We have to limit the number of trips that we provide to our clients, as we don't have enough drivers signed-up to help. So we're on a mission to expand our volunteer base.

You'll get a huge amount of satisfaction helping our clients get to their medical appointments.

We have a table of suggested donations so that when a client phones in to ask for transport, we include reference to that. The donation is much less than the corresponding taxi fare. That suggested donation is your recompense to cover the cost of using your car. That way you end up donating just your time

Volunteer Application Process

As we are working with vulnerable adults, we are required to follow the government’s Disclosure and Barring Service, when new applicants join us. It’s a fairly straightforward process, especially if you have clearance due to other activities. The process has 3 simple steps:

You supply us with some information regarding who you are, including proof of your identity and residence. This data will be held securely and only accessed by authorised persons.
We then send you an email asking you to make your DBS application, with our DBS administrator.
All drivers are then required to complete an online safeguarding training course. The course is not onerous or time consuming (guideline is 40 minutes). You will be sent the appropriate details and ‘link’ to this once you we have completed your DBS check.
